Her grandfathers had become gnarled and bent with age. Their leaves spread from widely splayed fingers.
She smiled and snuggled farther into the nook she had found.
"None of us were angels..."
Far above a family of geese sailed along. Their voices carried for miles, letting everybody know Fall was leaving, and Winter was arriving.
The sun was setting. He yawned and waved to Her, sending a blanket for the night. His sister rose up after him, and brought her millions of children to make a nightlight.
She smiled. Her hair was long, and had been some what braided by the wind. To himself, the wind thought of Her as his daughter.
"Stick around a little while and then you'll understand..."
His clothes had lot's some of their frays now that he was aroung Her again, now that she was free. He had noticed everyone had felt better, more..... alive somehow.
"I've watched you slowly winding for years..."
Her grandfathers had chosen to protect her with briars and some nasty splinters. She was young, and old, they knew. Their mother and daughter at once.
The head nurse cleared her throat and spoke into the news channel's microphone. "She is nine years old, scraw- well thin, she has no family, and is classified as extremely hostile and dangerous." She nodded her thanks and turned away.
"Like a loon could even understand what family is." She snorted and stalked back inside.

You have four nostrils, just to let you know.
thanks. I figured capitalizing 'Her' would be better than not, cause she's the main character..... and other wise you would be like... um "WTF? Who is she talking about?"
